A beginner’s sewing course: start learning how to sew or refresh your skills

This sewing workshop is designed for absolute beginners! Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine before or you’ve sewn long ago and need a refresher, this course is perfect for you.

Content Basic course Sewing Machine & Sewing Techniques

You will learn everything you need to start making clothing and other sewing projects using a sewing machine. You’ll learn:

• How to use a sewing machine
• Various sewing techniques
• How to work with sewing patterns
• How to correctly position and cut patterns on fabric

In addition to the theory, you’ll also practice hands-on with the sewing machine:

• Lesson 1: Create a shopper bag
• Lesson 2: Create a zippered pouch

By the end of the course, you’ll have mastered the basic techniques and be ready to sew independently using a sewing machine and patterns. You can also sign up for our Ongoing Sewing Classes, where you work on your own projects with guidance. Or join our Sewing Support Session, a single class to address your specific questions.
